“Pheonyx is a transformative inner being that craves self-expression in its highest form.” It’s widely believed that finding purpose in life is what holds the key to setting us free. For the Californian born Vegas resident, the freedom to express and create has been that inner calling for as long as she can remember, and through her music she strives to push the limits of her current reality.
Pheonyx is a play on words, a mashup of two concepts that she holds dear to her heart. Its double meaning involves the mythical bird of paradise, the phoenix, and the onyx gemstone, a biblical representation of the truths of faith.
Pheonyx is a proponent and advocate of the Anti-Ratchett movement, a conscious effort to enlighten and inspire people to be the best versions of themselves. Wearing this life philosophy on her sleeve, she aims to create and rebrand the image of female hip hop by challenging its stereotypes and conventions. She restores class, dignity and uniqueness to the collective voice.
