Debuting at 88 on the iTunes top 100 Rap album charts, the Pistol EP released April 6th, 2018 under the Nitrosonic Music label. Written and performed by Eric Pistol Combs, produced by Daniel Gong, and recorded/mixed/mastered by April Edwards.
Eric “Pistol” Combs was born Sept 15th, 1990 in Hazard, Kentucky. At the age of twelve he developed a strong love for music and was heavily influenced by the hip-hop genre. He began to write his own lyrics and practice his craft. From 2009-2011, Combs had a short run with a band called Highway 80 and performed at local venues.
The band went their separate ways after two years. In October 2017, after going through a trying time in his life, Eric Combs began writing and recording his first EP. He crossed paths with April Edwards at Nitrosonic Studio in Lexington, KY who went on to engineer Eric’s “Pistol” EP. In February 2018 the five song EP wrapped up production and was released April 6th of 2018 under the Nitrosonic label.
The night it debuted, “Pistol” hit the top 100 iTunes Rap Album charts at #88. He’s seen immediate success, including national radio play of the song “We Will Conquer” from the “Pistol” EP and live performances at several county fairs and Kentucky festivals, opening for Colt Ford at the Black Gold Festival. His second release in September, “ROOTS”, had no different trajectory; it debuted at #31 on the same iTunes chart.
